Steam deinstallieren - was passiert mit Account?

Wenn ich Steam deinstalliere: Wird dann auch der Account gelöscht? Könnte man dann problemlos das Game auf einem anderen PC installieren und den gelöschten Account wieder aktivieren? Oder führt ein richtiges Löschen des Accounts (wie geht dies überhaupt?) dazu, dass der Account nachher gar nicht mehr erstellt und das Game nicht mehr genutzt werden kann?

Der Account wird auf den Servern von Valve gespeichert, hat also nichts mit dem Steam-Programm zu tun.

Man kann sich mit dem Steam-Client (<1 MB) und den Benutzernamen + Passwort weltweit in den Account einloggen und alle freigeschalteten Spiele herunterladen und spielen.

Wichtig sind daher einzig und allein der Benutzername und das Passwort.

Die Möglichkeit den Account zu löschen, besteht bisher nicht.
Allerdings kann man den CD-Key "zurücksetzen" lassen, was jedoch ein erheblicher Aufwand ist, und außerdem kostenpflichtig.

If you still have your original printed CD Key and product CD from a retail package for a Valve product to prove ownership, we can reset your CD Key however, there is a $10.00 handling fee for this service.

This will remove it from the account that is currently using the CD Key, and add it to your account. To do this you will need to have a working Steam account (create a new one, if you do not have access to your current account).

You will need to mail us the following items to reset CD-Key

- The original printed CD-Key. This must include the original packaging the CD-Key was printed on (e.g. the CD jewel case). No copies, photos or scans will be accepted.

- The original CD for the Valve product.

- Your email address and mailing address.

- The Steam Account Name that you want the CD-Key assigned to.

- $10.00 (US Dollars). Only money orders or a bank cashier check will be accepted.

We cannot process incomplete CD Key reset requests. If you cannot provide all of the above items, we will be unable to help you and will return your payment.

NOTE: Valve will not reset CD Keys that have been banned by the Valve Anti-Cheat system for a cheating violation.

Du kannst dein Account auf dem anderen Rechner nutzen, nach dem du dich bei Steam angemeldet hast, quasi wie bei ICQ/Trillian. Die "Buddyliste" (deine eingetragene Spiele) wird auch übernommen.

ich wollte steam und hl2 deinstallieren und morgen auf eine neue platte draufinstallieren.
ist wenn weder steam noch sonstwas von valve auf dem rechner ist, und ich dann hl2 installiere steam direkt mit dabei oder muss ich das aus dem internet saugen?

Meiner Erinnerung nach ist Steam dabei, doch ist es gut möglich, dass im Internet noch zusätzliche updates gesaugt werden.
