Hi!

Was genau bringt mir eigentlich ein BIOS-Update bei einer Grafikkarte? Hat einer von euch schon Erfahrungen damit??

Und gibts vielleicht wo nen Link, wo man sich so Teile saugen kann?

Nichts bringt es, ausser du willst die Graka dauerhaft übertackten. Denn dann kannst du im Bios die Taktraten der Karte verändern und auf die Graka flashen :) Aber lass es lieber sein...

Aber eigentlich hat das Flashen bei einer V3-3000 schon was gebracht - hab das auch mal gemacht - kam mir jedenfalls so vor! ;)

ich habe eben gerade wo gelesen, das agp fast-writes im geforce-bios standardmässig deaktiviert ist. drum hätts mich interessiert.

graka ist eine MSI Geforce3 Ti200 Pro VD

stimmt es eigentlich, dass fast writes auf amd-systemen gar nix bringt??

abgesehen davon das du die taktrate(übertakten) fastwrite, und sidebanding ein/ausschlaten kannst gibt es noch viel mehr fixes...

horizontal lines were seen at the bottom of the screen in the center.
In VBE_SetDisplayState(), add code to not clear CR1A[7:6] while

and sides of the screen by changing the border color Y (register 0xA2)

Correct timing for SXGA panels (FP_VSYNC_START +
FP_HSYNC_START) on FP Table #02.
3.20.00.12.00 Composite output on the blue DAC output of Philips TV encoders is now
enabled.
Update copyright notice to 2001 and change 'NVidia' to NVIDIA'.
Limit mode support to 10x7 on 12x7 panels.
Add missing INIT_DONE to backlight on scripts.
3.20.00.11.00 Move FP transmitter initialization out of POST module into FPANEL
module.
Change the name of the routine SetDPMSOff() to DisableDPMS(). All
routines that call SetDPMSOff() were modified to reflect this change.
Registers NV_PRAMDAC_TESTPOINT_DATA (0x680610) are now cleared
on power up to fix the problem with some boards briefly displaying a
colored screen on the flat panel and TV during a mode set.



usw... das gibt es beispielsweise für alle geforce grakas.
Bios Release Note für alle chips...

meine geforce 1 ddr(GeForce 256 Annihilator Pro) hatte ein problem in verbindung mit dem infinionspeicher und den ersten flatsceen bildschirmen(schwarzer bildschirm). nach dem biosupdate hat alles funktioniert. das wurde mit einem der neueren biosversionen gefixt. es war übrigens ein offizielles vom hersteller.

grundsätlich machen die grakas aber keine probleme und du kannst das update auf eine neuere version vergessen. probleme haben ja die wenigsten und der rest redet sich die ein :-))). ich hatte das auch nur mit der alten GF 1 DDR.

wenn du dich nicht wirklich gut auskennst, dann laß lieber die finger davon du machst sonst mehr kaputt als das es dir was nützt ;-)
