Was ist mit folgender Hardware möglich? Surfstation?

Wobei Firefox, Flash usw. auch richtig Ressourcen zieht...

Grafikkarte: Intel 830M (Shared Memory)
128 MB SDRAM
80 GB Festplatte

Wenn du den Arbeitsspeicher nicht erweitern willst, fällt mir nur xubuntu (http://xubuntu.org/) ein.
Weder für KDE noch für Gnome reichen 128mb.

Minimum system requirements

To run the Desktop CD (LiveCD + Install CD), you need 128 MB RAM, when using the Alternate Install CD you can do with 64 MB.

To install Xubuntu, you need 1.5 GB of free space on your hard disk.

Once installed, Xubuntu can run with 64 MB RAM, but it is strongly recommended to use at least 128 MB RAM.

Werden wohl weniger als 128MB sein (Shared Memory). Ich finde daher Xubuntu nicht Optimal. Einen Windowsmanager wie Fluxbox wäre besser. Als Distri würde sich wohl DSL anbieten: http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/

Nichts für ungut aber DSL ist "imho" eine Spielerei, und kein ernst zu nehmendes BS.
Ich betreibe selbst Xubuntu auf einem P3 500 mit 128 mB, und bin mit der Performance zufrieden.
