Mittlerweile ist auch ein 180.29 verfügbar. SIeht recht vielversprechend aus.

* Fixed an X driver acceleration bug that resulted in Xid errors on GeForce 6 and 7 series GPUs.
* Updated the X driver to consider GPUs it does not recognize supported, allowing it to drive some GPUs it previously ignored.
* Added the ability to run distribution provided pre- and post-installation hooks to 'nvidia-installer'; please see the 'nvidia-installer' manual page for details.
* Updated the X driver's metamode parser to allow mode names with periods (i.e. '.'s).
* Fixed a problem in VDPAU that prevented the overlay-based presentation queue from being used on displays connected by component video.
* Fixed various problems in VDPAU that caused visual corruption when decoding certain MPEG-2 video streams.
* Fixed a crash in VDPAU caused by certain invalid MPEG-2 streams, in 64-bit drivers for some GPUs.

...also bei mir ist der nix. Im gegenteil Ubu 9.04 hats damit zerlegt. Nach Installtion des 180'ers ging nur noch der LowGraphic Mode, reinstallation des 177'er ging auch nicht mehr. Booten eines älteren Kernels brachte auch keinen erfolg. Neu installieren Xorg will er auch nicht....naja :D

Bei meiner SuSE 11.1 und einer 7900GS:

"Zerlegt" hat es bei mir nichts ;) aber jeder 180.xx führt zu einem Freeze bei Aufruf von Spielen, komme dann grad noch mit Mühe in die Konsole. Was um Gottes Willen haben die da gemacht?

Installation supereinfach. Hatte bisher den 177er benutzt, der bei ubuntu dabei ist. Den neuen hab ich in 2min draufgehabt

1.) STRG + ALT + F1
2.) sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
3.) sudo sh NVIDIA...run
4.) sudo /etc/init.d./gdm start

Funktioniert allerbest auf meinem Debian mit einer Geforce 7600GT.

Ich hab gestern abend mal mplayer mit VDPAU probiert... total krass ;D
Vorher hatte mein 3GHz Core 2 Duo doch arge Probleme manchmal, verschiedene FullHD-Videos abzuspielen. Gestern mit VDPAU hatte ich maximal 10% CPU-Last :eek:

Weiß jemand, ob schon an einer gstreamer-Integration gearbeitet wird? Totem stünde das Feature auch gut. :)
