Blade Symphony - Neue Mod von Dystopia-Machern

Vom frisch geformten Studio Puny Human (Dystopia) gibt es ein neues Mod-Projekt für HL².

Roughly a year ago, our team had the honor of meeting some of the developers responsible for the Source mod Project Berimbau. After some discussion, and a few months of working together, the two groups decided that a merger of Ninja Workshop and Puny Human would be in the best interests for the two groups and future projects by Puny Human. Thus began development on re-creating Berimbau using the talent from the combined team. Starting from scratch on a programming and level design end, Project Berimbau has become a harmonious blend of game play and graphics.


Ick kenne Project Berimbau nicht, daher keine Ahnung worauf das ganze Abzielt. Immerhin scheint mal schon etwas weiter zu sein. Und Dystopia wurde im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen groß angekündigten HL²-Mods auch zeitig und konsequent veröffentlicht, so dass ich jetzt nicht groß auf Jahre des Wartens tippen würde.

Das Level-Design ist hübsch, aber die Beleuchtung ist grauenvoll. De facto alles in eine einheitliche Lichtfarbe gehüllt, keine Highlights, keine Schatten, keine Spots die es interessant machen.

Jo ein wenig mehr Akzente wären nicht schlecht. Source ist aber auch nicht gerade die beste Engine, wenn es um Lighting geht. Da versumpft die Szenerie oft im Ambient, auch mit Akzentuierung.

Die Animationen sehen ja mal total scheisse aus. Sonst sieht es aber ganz okay aus.
