Technisch ist Opera leider schon lange hinter Chrome zurückgeblieben und außer dem persönlichen Geschmack fallen mir kaum Gründe ein, Opera zu verwenden.

Leider ist Opera der einzige Browser, mit dem man flüssig nach unten scrollen kann und dabei mitlesen.

Hmm, ich habe gerade mal die neueste Build 1090 installiert und mir kommt es so vor, als ob die Schrift der Buttons in der Adressleiste (z. B. Reload, Home usw.) deutlich blasser ist als vorher???

Jap, erste Pressevertreter berichten von der UpNorthWeb (http://news.cnet.com/8301-30685_3-20118416-264/opera-12-to-get-graphics-hardware-boost/), dass übermorgen eine Build mit HWA kommen wird. Die 12 Final ist dann für Ende des Jahres angesetzt - halte das für etwas früh, wo wir doch gerade mal bei Pre-Alpha sind?!

Für die allererste öffentliche Version mit dem Feature bemerkenswert, wie ich finde.

Bei mir hat er das Fenster erstmal nur schwarz gemalt. Hatte aber noch den uralten GeForce 169.21 Treiber drauf... Nach dem Update auf die aktuelle Version war dieses Problem gelöst.
(Frage am Rande, warum wurden durch die Deinstallation des alten Treibers fast 600MB auf C: frei wo das Setup doch kaum 80MB hatte!? :confused:)

Benutzbar ist das auf meinem 3GHz Pentium4 aber nicht. Auf www.ComputerBase.de z.B. geht das scrollen total abgehakt. Es schnellt sofort die CPU-Last in den Himmel und bleibt auch noch ein paar Sekunden oben wenn schon nichts mehr scrollt. Da müssen die noch einiges an Arbeit reinstecken...

Außerdem sieht die Schrift echt übel aus. Wenn aber ein Textabschnitt markiert wurde sieht die Schrift dort wieder normal aus:

Seit einem oder zwei Builds hat sich das Tab verhalten geändert.
Früher war es z.B. so, dass ein vom Speed Dial geöffnete Seite ein (leeres) Speed Dial benutzt hat. Jetzt war es nicht mehr so, es wird ein neues Fenster geöffnet.. ein bisschen lästig, wenn man es gewohnt ist mit rechts + runter nen Speed Dial zu öffnen und dann seinen Liebling anklickt.

Stelle ich das in den Optionen um, das der aktuelle Tab benutzt wird klappt das zwar, aber z.B. mit Tastendruck geöffnete Speeddials (Strg +4) überschreiben den aktuellen Tab, also mal eben STRG+ 4 und STRG+5 öffnet im Endeffekt nur den letzten link im aktuellen Tab, statt wie vorher 2 neue aufzumachen.

Ist euch das auch aufgefallen? wie komme ich am sinnvollsten zu den früheren Verhalten zurück?

Two opera:config preferences are turned on by default: “Scroll is Pan” and “Smooth Scrolling”. As a consequence of this, text selection is broken. This will be fixed soon.
A known issue is that, when pages have page overflow set, users have to focus the page to be able to use keyboard navigation.
The device API does not have a user interface yet. This will be added soon.

Bis vor kurzem (Vor der "Stern in der Adresszeile Version") hatte er bei mir während der eingabe Autocompletion gemacht besonders hatte er die Bookmarks auch unterhalb der Adresszeile eingetragen.

Opera ist zwar nicht ganz so schlimm wie das tolle Asus SonicMaster Progrämmchen das beim start 6MB braucht und nach nem Tag 230MB hat, aber am Speicherbedarf darf gerne gearbeitet werden.

Die Build erzeugt bei mir permanent CPU-Last von ein paar Prozent. Und die GPU-Beschleunigung ist immer noch ruckelig. Der Speicherbedarf ist auch höher.

Opera 12 Build 1155 nimmt sich ganz schön viel Speicher beim peacekeeper Benchmark, bis zu 1,4GB selbst mit FF x64 komme ich nicht über 520MB.

Habe die 1174 installiert und mir fielen beim kurzen Test auf CB keine Grafikfehler auf. Allerdings lastet der mit HWA beim scrollen der CB Startseite immer noch einen CPU-Core komplett aus (mit Software-Renderer nur im 1-stelligen Bereich). So werden die das nicht veröffentlichen können. (no)
Wobei ich größe Stücke auf den DirectX Renderpfad setze, der ja noch kommen soll.

Hab ich schon zweimal im Blog unter der Build getan. Den lesen sie ja angeblich auch. Bestätigt wurde der Fehler dort auch von anderen Usern. Also werden sie sich hoffentlich bald drum kümmern.

Webseiten werden eigentlich immer auch für den IE optimiert (und nie für Opera), von daher ist ein IE optimierter Benchmark nicht so unfair, wie es erstmal klingt.

Einen "Enable Proxy Servers"-Button hab ich mir in die GUI gezogen, damit ich für Youtube und paar andere Seiten je nach Bedarf den Proxy einschalten kann. Wenn ich nun den Button drücke, ist der Proxy für Youtube aktiv, aber wenn ich danach andere Tabs refreshen will, geht das nicht mehr. Er findet die Seiten dann nicht mehr, keine Verbindung. Dann hilft nur noch ein Opera-Neustart.

(Tolle Wurst, da wird das Proxy-Management von Opera endlich nutzbar, wird es gleich wieder durch einen Bug sinnlos...)

Die Build 1301 läuft jedenfalls bei mir bisher ohne Probleme. Das einzige was mich ein wenig stört ist der Streifen rechts am Ende der Tab-Reiter.

Die Problematik damals weiß ich leider nicht mehr so genau. Ich glaube es hatte damit zu tun, dass nach einem Reload der Speeddials oder Neustart von Opera die Speeddials die Größe wieder verändert haben oder so ähnlich??? Na ja, jedenfalls hatte ich deswegen von Never auf Custom umgestellt und als Zeit 1440 Minuten eingegeben, denn das sie nie neu laden geht wohl nicht in dieser Einstellung.

Schöne Sache. Leider zahlreiche Abstürze hier. Zurück zu 11.62.

Bei mir ist die 64er auch etwas zäh, nutze daher noch immer die 32bit Variante ohne HWA.
Nutze vorerst die finale 11.62, da mir die 12 nun schon des öfteren einfach mal abgestürzt ist.

Inwiefern hilft das? Bleiben bei deaktiviertem HDD-Cache (oder HDD-Cache auf 50 MB) jetzt dauerhaft (bestimmte) Visited Links erhalten? Bei 50 MB hält das in der Regel nicht mal einen Tag.

bei mir war das ohnehin egal wie groß der cache war. nach dem schließen von opera, alles wieder nicht angeklickt. ist bisher bei der neuesten build nicht der fall :)

komischerweiße stürzt die build bei mir zu hause dauernd ab. hier an der arbeit bisher keinen einzigen crash gehabt, obwohl ich hier zig mehr tabs hab...

und kann das sein, dass die HWA mit nvidia grakas noch probleme hat? ruckelt ordentlich... hier an der arbeit mit ner ati keine probleme.

64-Bit, Plugin-Container, Drag and Drop, HWA - das sieht mir auch noch nach einer sehr ausgiebigen Entwicklungszeit aus. Würde sogar weiter als Rooter gehen und Ende 2012 tippen, wenn nicht noch später. Aber dafür glaube ich, dass ein ausgereifter 12er wohl der beste Opera aller Zeiten wird.

Also, die aktuelle Build 1359 und auch die vorherige Build 1351 liefen bzw. laufen bei mir im großen und ganzen recht gut und stabil, nur eine Sache passiert immer mal wieder zwischendurch. Wenn ich einen Link mit der linken Maustaste anklicke, öffnet sich die folgende Seite nicht wie sie soll im gleichen Tab, sondern es öffnet sich ein weiterer Tab. Ich schließe den neuen Tab wieder und klicke den gleichen Link ein zweites Mal an und dann öffnet sich die Seite normal. Wie schon gesagt, das passiert nicht ständig und auch nicht immer auf den selben Seiten, sondern überall und sehr unregelmäßig.
Hat noch jemand dieses Problem???

Der entsprechende Eintrag in den Einstellungen fehlt ja leider :/

Ich weiß, daß das sicher seinen Grund hat.
Habe aber trotzdem keinen Bock drauf, daß jedes mal, wenn ich einen Link in einer Mail anklicke o.ä. sich ein zweiter Browser öffnet.

Also, ich bin sofort wieder zur Build 1360 zurück, denn mit der aktuellen Build 1372 habe ich mit der Menüleiste und der Tableiste nur Probleme.

Mir hat die 12 generell noch zu viele Probleme. Teile von Maxdome.de funktionieren zum Beispiel gar nicht damit. Werde also primär weiterhin den 11.62 nutzen und hoffen, dass da noch eine weitere 11er-Version hinterherkommen wird. Die 12er ist ja so extrem vollgepackt mit neuen Funktionen, dass es sicher noch laaaaange Zeit bis zur Final dauern wird. Die Known Issues sprechen ja schon Bände. Ich bleibe dabei: Vor Ende 2012 wird die Final wohl nicht kommen. Wenn überhaupt. :wink:

Mit DirectX erreicht die (Scroll-)Performance jetzt endlich das Niveau des Softwarerenderings (habe immer auf der Startseite von CB verglichen, mit OpenGL geht ein Core meines i5 auf Volllast wenn ich schnell hin und her scrolle!).

Es wird keinen DirectX 9 Renderpfad geben, unter XP wird also OpenGL verwendet. Dabei meine ich das war mal anders angekündigt... :uponder:

Problem mit DirectX ist dass die Schriften total kaputtgerendert werden. :(

Übrigens setzt WebGL nicht die global aktivierte HWA voraus. Man kann also für 3D-Kram (http://www.khronos.org/webgl/wiki/Demo_Repository) WebGL aktivieren aber alles andere von Vega in Software rendern lassen. Was ich, wenn die Schrift so bleibt, auch machen werde...
Habe das bei anderen Browsern nicht so verfolgt, die hatten doch anfangs auch das Problem dass DirectWrite die Schriften versaut hat. Wurde das Problem gelöst?
