Vorweg, ich weiß nicht wo genau das Problem liegt, wo ich es reinschreiben soll. Scheint ein Problem des Ubuntu zu sein.
Ein Download mit meinem Firefox (5.0) funktioniert mit ordentlicher Geschwindigkeit. Mehr als 380 Kb/s sind mit DSL 3000 halt nicht drin.
Aber beim surfen.....Seiten werden tlw. mit 20 B/s geladen. Dann wieder mal mit 500-800 B/s. Aber selten geht der Transfer höher. Auch der Thunderbird braucht ewig, um sich mit den Pop3 Accounts zu synchronisieren.
Im Netz verweilen macht so logo keinen Spass. Was könnte ich gegen diese schlechte Geschwindigkeit machen?
Hab ein Laptop Tecra9 von Toshiba, Ubuntu (Natty Narwhal), Firefox, Thunderbird. Gehe über ein WNDR 3700 und Wlan ins Netz.
Beim Anpingen antwortet der Router unter 1ms, heise braucht zwischen 30 und 800ms!
Bin eben etwas Ratlos und suche nach Rat.

Hast du ein Kupferkabel, womit du dein Laptop mal mit dem Wlan- Router verbinden kannst? Wenn ja, damit mal die Geschwindigkeit testen. Ich tippe auf Probs mit WLan. Hast du die MTU mal angepasst?

Habe den MTU Wert auf 1500 genommen, war vorher auf "automatisch", habe die Signalstärke bis auf 100% genommen, verschiedene Kanäle getestet. Brachte alles kein Erfolg.
Beobachtet hab ich folgendes: der Firefox braucht erstmal so 5 sec, bevor er läd. Dann macht er das mit einer Schwankenden Rate von 5-800 B/s, also alles sehr langsam. Manchmal gibt es auch Spitzen bis 10-20 Kb/s. Bei größeren Bildern, läd der Firefox dann auch mal mit 350 Kb/s.
Downloads oder auch Youtubefilme gehen alle recht flink.
In einem Onlinespeedtest gibt es stark verschiedene Ergebnisse, mal hab ich den Speed einer ISDN-Verbindung :eek:, mal die korrekte Geschwindigkeit.

Kabel muss ich erst besorgen....Wie es aussieht wirklich ein Problem mit dem Wlan. Da gibt es ja im Netz ne Menge Antworten dazu. Mal sehen ob ich es alleine schaff. Melde mich aber nochmal.

Klingt ganz gut, möchte aber erstmal was anders testen. Habe doch am Router noch ein zweites Wlan, mit 5Ghz. Mal sehen ob das besser taugt.

:| Was willst du mit TCP Optimizer unter Ubuntu anstellen?Habe den MTU Wert auf 1500 genommen1500 ist definitiv der falsche Wert. Eher brauchst du einen Wert um die 1440 rum, allerdings kann dein optimaler Wert auch 1472 oder so was sein.

Nein, nutz das Netz allein. Die Idee mit dem 5Ghz Wlan hat auch keine Besserung gebracht.
Ich geh erstmal Fussball schauen, Danke dir schon mal....habe den MTU-Wert auch wieder auf automatisch gestellt. Hatte mit dieser EInstellung auch die ganze Zeit geklappt.
Morgen ist auch noch ein Tag. So denn derweil.

Das ist das SYslog von heute, ich seh einen error im Zusammenhang mit Bluez, habe Bluetooth aber auch deaktiviert.
@Lokadamus kannst du hier noch Fehler endecken?

Hätte eigentlich erwartet, dass Fehlermeldungen ala "baue Verbindung neu auf" erscheinen, aber wenn das alles war und in den anderen Logs ebenfalls nichts steht, hab ich erst Mal keine Idee mehr.

Edit: Läuft die Verbindung mit Knoppix oder Windows besser?

So, ich nochmal. Jetzt scheint die Wlanverbindung recht flott zu funktionieren.
Habe im Router die Sicherheitsoptionen von WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] auf WPA2-PSK [AES] umgestellt.
Ob es nun daran lag, und wenn ja warum, weiß ich nicht. Andere Parameter oder Funktionen hab ich aber nicht angerührt.
Da das ganze nichts (mehr) mit Linux zu tun hat, kann der Thread ja nach unten verschwinden.
