Hi. My question is i dont know why i get WHEA-LOGGER in day 21.01.2018. My system was currently idling when i remember. Windows 10 Fall Creator Update build was 16299.15

A spam of: WHEA Event ID 19 CPU-corrected hw error

And only one : WHEA Event ID 47 memory-corrected hw error

Here are screen with one of them:

https://s10.postimg.org/glwy35ljt/image.jpg

My pc:

8700K stock, MTE on, 4700mhz auto clock

Asus Z370 Pro Gaming

16GB DDR 3000MHZ ( XMP ON)

Gtx 1080 Ti Aorus

Corsair 750 Rmi

SSD Crucial 525GB

HDD TOSHIBA 500GB

Windows 10 clean install 1709 Creator Fall Update

All settings in UEFI are stock, defaulted . Only XMP profile is on.

Any clues why on 16299.15 i get hardware corrected errors when on newest builds not?

All settings in UEFI are stock, defaulted . Only XMP profile is on.

Temps of cpu fine, temps of gpu fine. Never had any single BSOD. Memtest86 no errors. All benchmarks passing, no crashing in games

Only saw that warnings in event viewer from 21.01 using Win 10 build 16299.15 which make think that is something with voltages or software? 16299.192 and 16299.214 builds no WHEA-LOGGERS.

Maybe somebody tested 8700K on 16299.15 build?

English only please ! I dont know german language :(

Afair all ASUS Z370 Boards do OC the CPU at Auto setting. Disable the Turbo and don't use XMP (just for testing purpose).

You have updated the EFI to Version 1003?

Uefi stock only Windows 10 updated to 16299.214. No Whea Loggers.

Then i would suggest that the .15 Build has Bugs / incompatibilities in combination with your hardware / drivers / Software.

By the way, i strongly recommend to update the EFI. I had so many Boards (i work in a PC Shop) which struggled with different problems and all of them were gone after an EFI update.

I formatted disk again to reproduce issue but no luck, issue not repeated. Using the same Windows 10 not updated, the same drivers and this time no WHEA-LOGGER 19. Any clues why it happened on 21 january only?

UEFI BIOS the same settings

I think this has something to do with the meltdown/spectre patch:

To fix this:

reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" /v FeatureSettingsOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" /v FeatureSettingsOverrideMask /t REG_DWORD /d 3 /f

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4072698/windows-server-guidance-to-protect-against-the-speculative-execution

Try also "1" for both "FeatureSettingsOverride" and "FeatureSettingsOverrideMask" if the above wont work. Don't forget to reboot your system. Good luck.

Im Startpost steht doch, dass er das Problem mit Build 16299.15 hat. Da ist noch kein Meltdown/Spectre-Patch integriert. Mit aktuelleren Builds hat der User keine Probleme.
